Power equipment, handled like infrastructure
Westgrid Power is the electrical equipment trading desk of the Driftwood group. We buy surplus transformers and switchgear, put them through electrical testing, and get them to sites across Western Canada in weeks — with the paperwork to prove what you're getting.
Where we come from
Driftwood Communications has been building and maintaining critical communications infrastructure across British Columbia since the 1990s — the kind of work where equipment either performs or people notice immediately.
Westgrid Power applies that same discipline to power equipment. Thirty years of keeping infrastructure running teaches you two things: documentation matters, and so does answering the phone.
What we do
We buy retired and surplus transformers, switchgear, and breakers — from plant decommissionings, substation upgrades, and yard clear-outs. Units that pass electrical testing are reconditioned and resold; every sale ships with the full test report and a 1-year warranty in writing.
When the spec you need isn't in the yard, we source it through a network of equipment yards across North America — and if we can't get it, we say so and point you somewhere that can.
How we deal
Firm quotes, fast
Price, lead time, and unit history within 48 hours — usually same day. No games, no "call for pricing" runaround after you call.
Honest no's
If we can't source your spec at a price that makes sense, we tell you straight and suggest where else to look. That phone call costs us nothing and earns the next one.
Proof, not promises
Turns-ratio, insulation resistance, winding resistance, and oil analysis on liquid-filled units — the report ships with the equipment. If a unit doesn't pass, you never see it.
One throat to choke
CAD pricing. Duty and brokerage handled on cross-border units. Freight and rigging coordination to your site. One vendor, one invoice, one number to call.
